Gnome bar & desktops

I already posted once this question but I might not have been clear
cos I did not get any feedback :-)

My bottom bar shows the classical (so useful !) four desktops. Default
is desktop 1.

When I change of desktop number, the windows list does not change and
remains stuck on the fist default destkop list.

Does anyone know what to do to recover the normal situation
(usually windows lists are linked to their respective desktop number)
