Totem won't play.

totem-getreamer has an annoying bug when it comes to dvd. if you insert
the dvd, and totem is checked as prefferred player for dvd, totem will
autostart and play the dvd fine. if you stop and hit play again, totem
says it can't play the dvd because of missing plugins.

so try totem-xine or vlc...
