windows share and mount point

You might have already tried this but did you type
mount
?

it should listed all mounted file systems and where they are mounted.

mine says:
$ mount
[snip]
/dev/hda3 on /media/winshare type vfat (rw,umask=0222)
/dev/sde1 on /media/usbdisk type vfat ([snip])

my windows share is mounted manually, but my auto mounted usb disk is
shown, along with the location that Gnome put it at.

Worth a try anyway.
