That's a bug; I know about it and will try to get the necessary patches
into Feisty.

Essentially any usb audio devices that aren't safely unplugged (meaning
whatever audio applications were using the usb audio devices have been
closed prior to disconnecting the devices) require that the applications
be forcibly closed and the sound driver (snd_usb_audio) be unloaded
before one can continue using sound.
