rc desktop (live) cd install not working

Hi,

Is anyone else having trouble with the rc desktop (previously live) cd 
install?
I have installed with this method (and same cd) on one computer (a dell 
laptop), but it is stalling just after selecting keyboard on an older 
AJP laptop (circa 1999 vintage).

My guess is hardware failure, but want to check to see if anyone else 
has had this problem.
