Gnome low screen resolution (just 640x480)

Strange this is!



I've got the same problem here with a widescreen laptop (Dapper Drake)
of which I'd like to change the resolution for use with a beamer. I've
already got a second monitor working, but the resolution is to high for
a beamer.



The resolutions configured in *xorg.xonf* differ from what
*gnome-display-properties* offers.



I'd like to know if this gnome-display-properties has its own
configuration file somewhere, so that I can edit this one...



Any ideaz?
