This has worked well for me:

Following these guidelines (and interpreting where necessary) has helped me enable TwinView on several other Debian-based distros.

Does anyone know of an easier way to set up dual monitors on a amd64 breezy system?

I visited the nVidia page for amd64 (http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_amd64_1.0-8762.html ) and dled the run script and ran it (as root, without the X server on) and then it kept telling me things like I didn't have the right c libraries installed, it didn't know how to find the kernal source path, there were incompatibilites with the compiler for the kernel and gcc, etc etc etc. So I dled some more stuff, tried it again, etc for several hours and it still won't cooperate. Suffice it to say that I know there has to be an easier way to do this. And the worst part about it is Windows was able to get dual monitor support running for me within seconds!

  Thanks in advance,

  Danny
