Ethernet Problems on Acer Laptop

I'm also using an Acer Laptop and I noticed that knetworkmanager really
blocked my internet connection after an upgrade I did like a week ago or
so ... just shutting the program and using the normal network-config in
systemsettings helped ... Is knetworkmanager running on your box?
