Latest Nvidia drivers to get added to respositories...?

Ubuntu Users,

I'm not sure where to make requests for things that get updated in the 
repositories, but I was wondering what the schedule is for getting the 
latest Nvidia driver.

The current Nvidia driver available from Nvidia is 1.0-8762. The one in 
the repository is 1.0.8756.

I know the latest Nvidia driver was only released a few days ago, but I 
ask because the latest kernel for Dapper does not work with the current 
Nvidia module. I'm hoping the latest Nvidia upgrade will allow me to use 
X again.
