Ah, I see... I have friend who has developed a similar "disease". I say
disease because his case his very severe : he checks a web site, closes
the browser, restarts it 2 second later to check another site, and so
aon, 200 times per day. Same for the terminal : "ls", close terminal,
open terminal, "ls" (again, because he closed it before he really had
time to view what he wanted to see), close terminal , re-open
again... ;-)
I keep telling him that Linux is a multi-tasking OS that's DESIGNED to
run several applications at the same time, and that his machine has
plenty enough ressources for any number of terminal windows or anything,
and that he can have as many workspaces as he wants but still, like you,
he just can't help. At least I have managed to point it out to him, and
make him realise it. He know acknowledges that he hs a problem, and he
makes fun of himself about it. But he hasn't yet got to the stage where
he can find the ressources to start fighting his habits... one day
maybe... ;-)
