no, there's a serial-to-USB converter.  IT worked pretty well for me
under debian sid for a while, but now neither the direct serial nor
the usb interface works under ubuntu (I do have a new ocmputer though,
so there may be some hardware issues here).

have you installed GPE/DejaPim?  Do you like thei nterface?  for me
the PIM is the mosti mportant part.  Also I'm not sure the folks at
work will spring for a phone, which doesn't have the
obviouswork-related functions.
