e1000 network driver for breezy

Hi Peeps,

Please can someone email to me at e1000 at geograph.co.za
the *updated* *Intel* or *Sourceforge* (*not* the one on the CD) driver.

I downloaded and compiled both the v7033 pointed to at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/e1000/ 7.0.33 and also v7038 offered by
Intel but got the following boot error (dmesg):

e1000: version magic '2.6.12-19-386 386 gcc-4.0' should be
'2.6.12-19-386 386 gcc-3.4'

A manual modprobe or insmod /lib/........
both return:

error inserting e1000 (/lib/.....) Invalid module format.

By default breezy installs gcc-4.0 but has gcc-3.3 (not 3.4) on the CD.

All I did was to create a link (called gcc-3.4) to gcc-4.0 and then ran
make install.

I cannot easily install gcc-3.3 as I have no lan connection on this box
- but I can get the driver across to it via a USB stick.

TIA,
Zoltan
