I use evolution everyday. I used to use thunderbird, but evolution has
some features I really like that thunderbird didn't seem to support.

All that said, you will have problems with evolution. On occasion it
locks up and trashes its data. Then every time you restart it, it will
either crash immediately or lock up. The only way to recover from these
problem is a bit time consuming. You have to move your .evolution
directory to another name, start evolution and get it working, then slowly
copy pieces of your .evolution directory back in restarting after each
until you have recovered all your data.

This process is relatively painful and unless you are willing to go
through it every couple months I really can't recommend evolution.
