Mythtv on dapper

I had similar problems, I don't know if it's especially Dapper related.

On my old box I had backend and frontend installed, and every time
mythfilldatabase run, the backend died on me. Now I reinstalled the
latest Dapper (Flight 7) on a fresh box, only as a backend and this is
still running fine. I will be monitor this thread and post my findings.
I have had similar errors like mythtv telling me that the database went
away, but on my new box I have not noticed this.

In the meantime, I will post another mythtv problem and solution
(perhaps not Dapper related either):

- I own a Hauppauge PVR-150 card and whenever I change channels,
mythtv does not give me any output anymore. The only way to get
output again, was to unload the ivtv driver and reload it, but still
  I could not change channels.

SOLUTION
- I found out that after loading some I2C modules to monitor
motherboard temperature, these made changing channels impossible. NOT
loading -i2c-viapro, i2c-isa, it87- during bootup made ivtv and mythtv
  work fine again.
