Alternative to LaTeX?

I just happened to try DocBook and I'd like the syntax eventhough it's
not exactly what I'm looking for. The only problem is that I don't know
how to create PDF's out of DocBook xml files.  No luck with jw, it
doesn't handle xml. Help?
