Hello,
I get a better and better configuration with a Dapper server and 2-3
thin clients that boot with PXE. I have one new Dell Optiplex 210
desktop that I have tried as a thin client to check if audio works, and
it does. I have problems getting sound to work with Compaq Deskpro EN
SFF 6350 (PII/128/6.4). The Compaqs have ESS1869 cards. I have installed
Ubuntu Dapper on the harddrive on one of them and can sucessfully use
the soundcard, it is not autodetected, but I can load the sb module
manually (modprobe sb esstype=1869 io=0x220 irq=5 dma=1). When booted as
a thin client I'm unable to make the sound work.
I have tried to add this to /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/lts.conf on the server:
[00:08:C7:A1:BE:89]
MODULE_01 = "soundcore.o"
MODULE_02 = "sb esstype=1869 io=0x220 irq=9 dma=1"
Have also tried
SMODULE_01 = "sb esstype=1869 io=0x220 irq=9 dma=1"
Sound is still not working.
I appreciate any debugging solutions / other suggestions on how to get
sound working.
Thanks,
Erling Ringen Elvsrud
