Mmmm, this is the only thing I have not tried. I live alone and have a
disability with my back and legs so I cannot get under the desk to the
rear port where it is currently connected. I will get someone to help
me, do as you suggest on a front port and get back to you.

That's fine, thanks for your patience. If it leads me to an answer,
that would be great. The scanner worked perfectly on a Windows 2000
machine I had.
