If you can find a .deb of the new version it's pretty easy to update. "sudo dpkg -i filename.deb" Or you could try "alien" to make a .rpm into a .deb, but there is no guarentee. I realise these aren't GUI (Synaptic) methods but they are pretty simple if you can find the files in the first place. -- bikeboy
