It does sound interesting, but after a glance at the documentation it
looks a lot like latex but worse. Some of the example source code is
almost funny, all these @ and | symbols all over, very confusing. May
as well stick with what I know I think.

I think it's a real shame, because the underlying concepts of LaTeX
are really powerful and useful, but it really just needs someone to
reimplement it with a nice syntax and interface and some nice export
formats and bring it into the modern world. You could write a big
extension to markdown or something. I'd never have time to start this
though.
