I've always understood that if it was suspend-to-disk there's no problem -
-the computer is entirely off -- but if it's suspend-to-ram then there are
potential difficulties. But the latter may be hearsay. I myself have been
hit by a car while riding; my HP omnibook got a nasty chunk taken out of and
is now rather tricky ot open (screen wants to come off) but it woke up from
standby (APM suspend-to-ram) and worked just fine.
