I hear him more like "leenooks".  But then I don't say Paris as
"Paree" or any number of other native versions of anglicized words.

I still say "Lienux".  And truth be told, like many or most Leenux
sayers, I often say the "u" wrong too, saying it as the "i" in Unix.
