OK, on Ubuntu, just type vpnc in a terminal window. It will prompt you
for the address of your VPN gateway, the group ID, the group password
and your username and password.

If you don't want to type that every time, then go to /etc/vpnc and copy
(as root using sudo) the file example.conf to default.conf. Then edit
this (again as root using sudo) and put the details of your VPN gateway
in there.

One of the problems is that the group password needs to be there in
clear text whereas it is encrypted in the Windows client profile file.
You can go to http://www.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/~massar/bin/cisco-decode to
decode the password if you need to!
