...and the install printer dialogs in ubuntu, there is no support for
your printer. I suggest you complain to the manufacturer and ask them to
cooperate with the developers

As far as I know no printer manufacturer supports Linux. People have
just been good enough to make the Linux drivers for many printers
they've written OpenSource. If you don't believe me try and get a Linux
driver from the manufacturer of your printer.
