Panasonic SW-9585 Burner !!

Have a Panasonic SW-9585
and notice that device manager states
that this drive can't burn dvd-rw

storage.cdrom.dvdrw   bool  false

This is not true, this unit, can burn all.
in-fact, all the rest of the storage.xxx are bool & true (7 of them)
and 1 is bool & false, for a total of 8 storage lines.

Can I format the dvd-ram, HOW ! what format options are available?

Last:
Have several Mac OS X Format dvd-ram media, that Ubuntu can't read,
how does one make this work??
