Using GNOME I made the change of my default browser there to Opera and when clicking on a html files it opens correctly in the proper browser. However when I am in Thunderbird I get the KDE conquerer browser.

Sorry, it took a bit longer than normal to get back but after a very long night of working and most of the day... I was able to break away and check email today.
Thanks for all the input. I have never known about the sudo update-alternatives --all. Now that does explain a lot of defaults that have change without my changing them.
Here is a slight twist. How can I add opera to the `x-www-browser' list. Opera is not included on the PPC package list and I had to manually install the package. Now I want to make that the system default.
