The branding on the front of mine says "SAMSUNG" and has a logo that
says "lightscribe". Disks Manager reports "TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552L".
Mine is an IDE drive mounted into an external box bridged with USB 2.0.
Device Manager reports "Macpower Peripherals, Ltd. USB Mass Storage
Interface". It doesn't give model information, etc.
I do know that this combination worked out-of-box in one of the few
pleasant surprises I've had from Linux since switching. I suspect the
USB bridge really doesn't matter and that the drive will work directly
connected just as easily.
