I didn't have any problems when converting my ntfs-partitions to ext3,
which required copying 160 GB (120000 files) in two sessions.
Nautilus is quite slow on large directories, but it never failed me.
And a small advice: If you have a single large directory, and want to
copy/move/delete the files in it, the operation will be a LOT faster if
you leave the dir after giving the command. Don't keep its contents
visible in Nautilus.
