Nautilus - bug or feature

I've never had much luck transferring massive amounts of files (say over
5 GB) in Nautilus (or in KDE's Konqueror).  I don't know why, but I
guess X in general seems to balk at it.  So I've pretty much resorted to
doing it in a terminal in those instances.
