Well.... it depends :-) If all you want to do is sync 2 directories then rsync
or perhaps unison is a good choice. If you want to “scale up” and do a little
more (perhaps versioning, sync more machines) then subversion is a good idea.
In my case my setup is as follows:
- work box has apache + subversion installed
- I have my “work” directory (with articles, presentations etc.) in this
repository
- working copies on my work box, laptop and home machine
setting up subversion on ubuntu is pretty easy. I wrote a small howto which is
posted on my website
