breezy - dapper upgrade broke wireless

I've had very similar problems to Todd here. Since my recent update,
Ubuntu now freezes during boot at "loading hardware drivers." I
believe I have the same card as he, but a different laptop. Later
attempts to configure generate very similar errors.

Anyone have ideas?
