Well, I *might* have found a solution for not logging the network
traffic. I changed the LOG_LEVEL parameter in
/etc/firestarter/configuration from
  LOG_LEVEL=info
to
  LOG_LEVEL=none

I'll see if it works...

As regards the mail-notification messages, I couldn't find anything.
