I have the same issue
To boot the live cd you have to write in the kernel boot parameter
linux vga=771 acpi=off noapic nolapic

You will see a strange color in the console until X starts.

Also to get X to start you need to go into your bios and change so
your grafikcard use shared memory instead of dedicated.
