Ubuntu is not Firefox friendly

hi guys,



i get my firefox 1.0.7 but i did not work fine so i tried to upgrade it
downloading the 1.5 version, I unzipped the tar.gz and i get it running
without doing anything else... but, this is strange, i do not have the
little icon on the title bar, so when i minimize firefox it is hard to
distinguish it from the other applications running... some hints?
