binding key combinations

There is a LUG being organised here at my college (where the 
GNU/Linux culture is nonexistent), and in the first meeting (where
most people will actually be non users or rather prospective users) we
plan to show how _cool_ linux can be compared to linux. show off the
better GUI (it is certainly better than windows), and then move on to
other advantages. so well, i got the '3ddesktop' utility, and have no
idea how to bind a key combination to it. The
'System->Preferences->Keyboard Shortcuts' menu entry doesn't allow me
to _add_ an entry, just modify existing ones.
