Dapper: Todays update, problem with XOrg

Hello,

Today, I made an update on my dapper box, Kubuntu (Was a fresh install
of Flight 5 and is a IBM Thinkpad R40 Type 2722BDG) and after today'S
update, when X beginns to start, at first everything seems to be ok
(Mousepointer appears, blue background appears) *but* when KDM itself
starts, the screen is and stays garbled.

I switched to a console and manually examined xorg.conf and found a
Monitor with a resolution with more than 1024 x 768 configured, which I
removed (The display is standard 1024 x 768 @ 60Hz) but no change...

What else can I do?
