Resolution and Soundcard problem on 915GAG

I had installed Breezy on desktop running an EM64T Processor on an
Intel 915GAG board a couple of days ago, and the resolution hadn't
given trouble until today when it suddenly came down to 640x480 for no
apparent reason (the monitor supports upto 1024x768 (and higher) and
thats what had been the resolution earlier). I am pretty confident
that I havent fiddled around with the display. The only choice I now
see on the 'screen resolution' program under 'preferences' menu is the
same 640x480. The soundcard (onboard 82801 controller, and part of the
intel board) showed up on the device manager but the sound never came
(when I checked in the 'sound' configuration program under
'preferences' menu).
Anyways, I decided to let that pass, because I just got the Flight 5
CD for Dapper :). Put it in, fired up the install, and here I am
typing this mail, unable to see the beginning of it because its
scrolled off my screen. Sound trouble stays the same.
How do I go about setting these two right? I dont have any experience
editing xorg.conf (infact, my notebook's dual head is still an issue
that needs to be sorted ;) )
Thanks for reading!
Arjun
