problem with libmng

Hi All
 
this question probably does not fit here but I do not know where else to
post it.
 
I am using a tool called FSL (there is no mailing list or other stuff about
this tool) on a Breezy 64bit machine.
When launching the tool I get an error message:
 
"libmng.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory."
 
libmng is in /usr/lib
 
Does anyone have an idea of what this could be. Is there any other place an
application would look in
I tried creating a link in the tools lib folder (/usr/local/fsl/lib) but
that also did not help
