Is there a good BASIC compiler for ubuntu?

Yeah I know, even shellscript, python and such can be compiled :-)
What I meant was "in its usual use".
That's funny because last week I just explained one friend at my
university that any language ("yeah even html !") can/could be
compiled ;-)
