Dapper Issues

Does anyone know is there's a problem with Dapper networking?

I have to do a sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart every time I boot my
machine. On boot it gives me an error along the lines of
"/etc/resolvconf/run/interface " is not a directory
Also when I do a ifconfig the inet addr is wrong.

My DHCP server is providing the correct 10.1.1.10 address, but ifconfig
is reporting a 169 address as shown below:
eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:0D:61:55:18:BD
          inet addr:169.254.119.28  Bcast:0.0.0.0  Mask:255.255.0.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::20d:61ff:fe55:18bd/64 Scope:Link
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:16418 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:12318 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:17406220 (16.5 MiB)  TX bytes:1069123 (1.0 MiB)
          Interrupt:201 Base address:0xe800

Any advice appreciated.

Kind Regards Russell
