XGL without ati/nvidia

I´m gonna buy a new laptop and i have been checking dell inspiron 630m, but it only was a shared intel accelerated 900 gpu.
Will this be enough to run XGL/Compiz? 
I know eye-candy may not be a reason to buy a computer but if it doesnt work i would go for a inspiron 6000 (15,4 screen with an ati card) instead. Besides i wanna make my sister jealous when she sees some stuff her mac osx cant do ;)
