Another thing you could consider is Xlivecd:

http://xlivecd.indiana.edu/

(from their site) A CD based on Cygwin for X Windows forwarding
via ssh.

You simply put the cd in a windows system. Read the
documentation (or close the window if you have used before) and
select run from cd. From there you can log into a *nix based
system via ssh and with windows forwarding you can run your x
sessions on your windows system.

Nothing to install so if you have imaged systems you work from
(ie corp images) that you can't install onto you won't have to
worry about that.
