fstab windows partition question

Mine is...
/dev/hda1       /media/hda1     ntfs    ro,users,uid=yogi        0       0
...and is readable by me (user).  The 'uid=' parameter seems to be required.  
Without it, only root can read /dev/hda1 (NTFS)
