I've test "Gold" config using 0.9.8 from Debian testing and it continues not 
working.

I'm almost sure there is another inconvenience anywhere on Ubuntu. Or maybe 
I'm missing a package or maybe is a kernel problem (I was running my own 
kernel when it was working in Debian Sid)
