avahi-daemon: fails to start without libavahi-core3 installed

I know this is from reportbug, and the poster may not actually read the
group, but...

Did you try "aptitude -f install"?  It didn't install automatically for me
either, but for some reason, the -f option picked it up.  Obviously, since
you've found the problem, you've probably already installed it, but it
would be interesting to find out...
