You need to enable the multiverse repo. Just add it to your existing
ones in /etc/apt/sources.list. Mine says:

deb http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper-backports main
restricted universe multiverse

(all one line)

then

sudo apt-get update
