devices attached to my hub do not work at all.
before installing (k)ubuntu I had debian with self compiled vanilla 
2.6.16 kernels and it worked fine (earlier vanilla kernel had this 
problem, too).

any idea what I can do to get the usb hub to work (other thank compile 
kernels on my own)?
