Shipit: Default "Desktop " CD (was Re: Upgrade etc.)

Right - the alternate CD has the basic packages, and can be added using
"apt-cdrom add" or equivalent. You can then do at least a partial
dist-upgrade from the CD, although if you have additional apps etc. you
still need a Net connection to complete the move to dapper/ 6.06

This is a real issue for people without Net access - who I assume were the
ones who profited most from the former policy of including separate "Live"
and "Install" CDs.

The same people are often likely also to have less RAM and older machines,
which could make installing with the graphical/desktop CD problematic ( I
think the lower limit for the graphical instaler is around 192 MB)

I would hope the new installer could be tweaked for "Edgy Eft" to make it
run in less RAM successfully, as I understand that one advantage of the
single CD is lower cost for Canonical...
