Following this most excellent thread with your careful instructions
Xinerama worked first time!
This is absolutely awesome! :D
however, using Alt-Crtl-F1, the default terminal is the LCD monitor and
not the laptop...
Using a ACER Aspire 3002WLC laptop and a 15in LCD LG-L1512S Flatron.
The laptop uses a SIS video card with 64Mb shared memory.
How can the laptop be made the default cli terminal?
This was using a hacked xorg.conf from Jean :
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=1160223&postcount=3
and the script to changing the xorg.conf from Mathew Kuiken:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=1168191&postcount=12
working xorg.conf and script
xorg.conf:
Code:
--------------------
# /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
#
# This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
# values from the debconf database.
#
# Edit this file with caution, and see the /etc/X11/xorg.conf manual page.
# (Type "man /etc/X11/xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
#
# This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
# if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
# package.
#
# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
# again, run the following command:
# sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
