What is asking for the CUPS password?



If you are trying to do something that requires 'root' privileges, then
you simply input your user password.  If you are the main user (which
applies to 99.99% of the readers of these forums!) then your user
password is all that is required.



Are you setting the printer up using a GUI (i.e. are you using System
-> Administration -> Printing?).
