Installing without getting into livecd mode

To resume the download could solve your problem of disconnecting
Internet access. You could use lftp for this task. Install it with the
following command: gsudo apt-get install lftp
Download the iso file with the following command: lftpget -c
http://ftp.ussg.iu.edu/linux/ubuntu-releases/6.06/ubuntu-6.06-alternate-i386.iso

The argument -c causes to resume a download after reestablishing the
connection.
